This role will be based in South Somerset.

Role Purpose

The postholder plays a pivotal leadership role in the delivery of preventative public health nursing services for children and families. The postholder will manage a local public health nursing team and manage the effective coordination of staff resource. The role focuses on early intervention, safeguarding and improving community health outcomes. This role also requires strong partnership working with health services and other agencies.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate public health nursing services.

• Manage, coordinate and support a local health visiting team.

• Undertake community health needs assessments and deliver early help interventions.

• Work in partnership with health service, education and social care agencies.

What We’re Looking For – Essential Skills/Experience

Registered Health Visitor with Public Health Specialist degree. Proven leadership experience with working knowledge of Public Health and Preventative Strategy. Strong safeguarding knowledge and the ability to manage caseloads and teams. Can organize and deliver education in teams or 1:1.

About the Team/Service

You’ll join Public Health Nursing, supporting integrated early years and family health services.

Any Additional Information

This is a permanent, full-time role working 37 hours a week. The role involves frequent travel across rural areas of Somerset, and lone working on occasion.
