The salary for this role is £27,711 - £31,067 per annum - Permanent contract - 37 hours per week.
Role Purpose
The postholder will conduct thorough audits and review Council contracts to ensure integrity and compliance. The postholder will identify areas for improvement, ensuring contracts represent value for money and effective use of resources. This role contributes to continuous improvement in contract management processes, ensuring high standards of delivery across Infrastructure and Transport.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out comprehensive audits of contracts to ensure compliance.
- Identify risks, discrepancies and opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare detailed audit reports with findings and recommendations.
- Work with services to implement audit recommendations.
- Support the development of good contract management practice.
What We’re Looking For – Essential Skills/Experience
Experience in contract auditing or a related field, with experience of preparing detailed reports. Knowledge and understanding of contract management principles and relevant laws / legislation. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and effective communication skills. Degree qualified with a professional certification in auditing e.g. CIA, CISA.
About the Team/Service
You will work within the Infrastructure and Transport Directorate, supporting robust governance and assurance across a wide range of contracts.
Additional Information
- The salary for this role is £27,711 - £31,067 per annum.
- This is a permanent, full time role working 37 hours a week. The role involves frequent travel across rural areas of Somerset, and lone working on occasion.
- Flexible and Hybrid working (1-2 days per week in the Office).
- 28 day’s annual leave (additional to bank holidays).
