About the Role
The Total Pay & Reward team plays a key role in helping Somerset Council maintain fair, transparent and consistent pay and grading arrangements. Working with colleagues across the organisation, the team supports a significant job evaluation programme that will help shape how work is organised, evaluated and understood across the Council.
We're looking for several Job Evaluation Information Officers to join our team during an exciting and important period of change. In this role, you'll be at the heart of coordinating information, supporting stakeholders and keeping a complex programme moving forward. You'll work with managers, HR colleagues, employees and trade union representatives to make sure role information and supporting evidence is accurate, complete and ready for evaluation, helping to support fair and informed decision-making across the organisation.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys organising information, building relationships and bringing structure to complex pieces of work. You'll play an important part in a high-profile programme while gaining valuable experience in job evaluation, programme coordination and evidence-based decision-making.
How You'll Make a Difference
- Coordinate information, documentation and activity across multiple job evaluation workstreams, helping keep the programme on track.
- Review and quality-check evidence, ensuring managers and decision-makers have accurate and complete information.
- Build positive relationships with managers, employees, HR colleagues and trade union representatives, providing advice and support throughout the process.
- Monitor progress, identify risks or delays and help find practical solutions to keep activity moving forward.
- Produce clear records, reports and management information that support transparency, governance and informed decision-making.
What You'll Bring
- Experience of coordinating complex projects, programmes or workloads while managing competing priorities and deadlines.
- Strong organisational and analytical skills, with the ability to review information, identify gaps and solve problems effectively.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence working with a wide range of stakeholders, including managers and colleagues at all levels.
- Experience of maintaining accurate records, producing reports and working with sensitive or confidential information.
- The ability to work independently, use sound judgement and remain organised in a fast-paced and changing environment.
Previous job evaluation or HR experience would be beneficial but isn't essential. We're particularly interested in people who can coordinate complex information, build strong working relationships and maintain accuracy in a fast-moving environment.
