Seasonal Instructor

Salary:  Grade 15, Ranging from £25,614 to £26,016

Contract: The seasonal contract starts February 1st, 2027 – November 30th, 2027.

Hours:  37 Hours per week.

About the Role 

Are you passionate about the outdoors and creating memorable experiences for young people and groups?

As a Seasonal Instructor, you'll lead and support a wide range of exciting outdoor activities, both on and off-site, helping participants build confidence, develop new skills and enjoy safe, engaging adventures.

You'll play a key role in delivering residential courses, providing excellent customer care, maintaining high standards of safety and safeguarding, and ensuring every visitor receives a welcoming and positive experience.

Working as part of a supportive team, you'll help create an environment where learning, adventure and personal growth can thrive.

How You'll Make a Difference 

• Deliver inspiring outdoor adventures and learning experiences for young people across Somerset and beyond.
• Help shape and develop exciting activities, both on-site and in the great outdoors.
• Give young people the chance to build confidence, learn new skills and discover what they're capable of.
• Maintain and inspect activity equipment, ensuring the highest standards of safety.
• Play an important role in safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of every participant.
• Work across four stunning outdoor centres set within the beautiful Quantock and Mendip Hills.
• Join a service that focuses on what young people can achieve, helping them imagine, discover and succeed.

What You'll Bring

• Experience delivering outdoor and adventurous activities for young people.
• Experience in residential settings, risk assessment and safe working practices.
• Hold one or more of the following qualifications: RCI, Paddlesport Instructor, Mountain Bike Leader, Lowland Leader, Duke of Edinburgh Assessor, or Archery GB Instructor.
• Valid First Aid qualification.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with children and adults.
• Confident using ICT systems and equipment.
