About the Role

Our Adult Social Care teams support some of Somerset's most vulnerable residents, helping people maintain their independence, access the right support and achieve the best possible outcomes.  Business Support colleagues are an essential part of that work, providing the coordination and organisation that enables frontline teams to focus on the people they serve.

As a Senior Business Support Assistant, you'll be at the heart of a busy and rewarding service. You'll help coordinate key meetings, manage important records, support operational processes and provide a professional first point of contact for a wide range of people. In return, you'll be part of a supportive and friendly team where your skills are valued and where your work genuinely makes a difference to local communities every day.

How You'll Make a Difference

  • Coordinate and support key meetings, ensuring accurate records are maintained and actions are followed through effectively.
  • Provide responsive support and information to colleagues, residents and partner organisations, helping queries reach the right outcome quickly.
  • Maintain accurate records and business systems, helping services make informed decisions and deliver high-quality support.
  • Organise and prioritise a wide range of administrative activities, ensuring work is delivered efficiently and deadlines are met.
  • Support financial and operational processes, helping services run smoothly and resources be managed effectively.

What You'll Bring

  • Experience in an administrative, business support or office-based role.
  • Strong communication skills, with the confidence to work with a wide range of people and handle sensitive information professionally.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a busy environment.
  • Confidence using Microsoft 365 applications, particularly Word, Excel and shared digital systems.
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail when managing records, information and data.
