This is an exciting opportunity to join Somerset Council's Flood Resilience Programme Team and gain hands-on experience within a high-profile, multi-agency programme focused on reducing flood risk and building long-term resilience.
You'll work alongside experienced professionals, applying and developing your design, branding and marketing skills in a meaningful role from day one. From creating engaging campaigns and visual content to supporting projects that benefit communities and the environment, you'll gain valuable experience while helping shape Somerset's future resilience.
About the Role
As a Design and Marketing Graduate, you'll support the delivery of creative communications, branding, and marketing activity across the Somerset Flood Resilience Programme. Working with a range of teams and partners, you'll help develop engaging content and promotional materials while gaining valuable experience in a dynamic local government environment.
How You'll Make a Difference
- Create engaging design and marketing materials across digital and print platforms.
- Support the planning and delivery of communications, campaigns, and community engagement activities.
- Undertake research and analysis to help inform communications and project work.
- Assist with the delivery of projects, maintaining information and supporting effective programme outcomes.
- Build positive relationships with colleagues, partners, stakeholders, and suppliers.
- Contribute ideas and improvements that enhance services, processes, and ways of working.
What You'll Bring
- A relevant degree or equivalent qualification, with a classification of at least 2:2 (obtained within the last 3 years).
- Experience of working independently and managing your own workload to meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships.
- Experience undertaking research and analysing information.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Good digital and technical skills, with the ability to use a range of systems and tools effectively.
