About the Role
Somerset Lifeline helps people across Somerset live safely and independently in their own homes through technology-enabled care and support services. The team works closely with residents, families, health and social care professionals, and community partners to provide reassurance and practical support when it matters most.
As a Lifeline Installation Officer, you'll be at the heart of delivering a service that makes a real difference to people's lives. Visiting customers in their homes, you'll install and maintain equipment that helps them stay safe, connected and independent. Working as part of a dedicated and supportive team, you'll build trusted relationships with customers, provide advice and reassurance, and help ensure every customer receives an excellent experience. This is a rewarding opportunity to combine practical skills with meaningful customer contact while supporting some of Somerset's most vulnerable residents.
How You'll Make a Difference
- Install and maintain Lifeline equipment in customers' homes, helping people live independently and safely for longer.
- Build positive relationships with customers and professionals, providing reassurance, guidance and support throughout their journey.
- Respond to equipment faults and service requests quickly and effectively, ensuring customers can rely on the support they need.
- Keep accurate records of visits, installations and customer information to maintain high standards of service delivery.
- Share ideas and customer feedback to help improve services and enhance the experience for residents across Somerset.
What You'll Bring
- Experience of delivering excellent customer service and supporting people with a wide range of needs and circumstances.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to put people at ease and explain information clearly.
- A caring, patient and empathetic approach, particularly when working with vulnerable customers in their homes.
- Good organisational skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and confidence managing a varied workload.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office applications and a full driving licence with the ability to travel across Somerset.
